Pens End Regular Season

The Penguins are in Montreal tonight to close out the 2008-2009 regular season against the Canadians. That Satan guy is back with the team. Miroslav Satan, who was sent to Scranton-Wilkes Barre at the trade deadline to make room under the salary cap for Billy Guerin, is back with the big league club. Satan had 17 goals and 36 points in 65 games before his demotion. With the Baby Pens he had three goals and nine points in ten games. And according to reports, a good attitude that rubbed off on some of the younger players.

Pittsburgh can finish as high as second but need help to get there. The Pens are tied with Philadelphia and Carolina for fourth place but the Flyers have two games in hand, and if they finish tied with Carolina the Hurricanes win the tiebreaker thanks to more wins.

Evgeni Malkin enters the final game with a four point lead over Alex Ovechkin in the race for the league scoring title. Sidney Crosby is third in the league with 103 points, the second highest single season point total in his short career.
