Pens End Home Schedule

Pens and the Islanders, otherwise know as the worst team in the NHL, meet tonight at the Igloo in the final regular season home game for Pittsburgh. Face off is set for 7:35 p.m. The Islanders have 61 points, a league-low nine road wins, and they're coming off a 9-0 loss at Carolina. But before you think the Pens will breeze to the win, think about this Mr. Freeze. Two of New York's last three wins have been over Detroit and Philadelphia.

Evgeni Malkin enters with a two point lead over Alexander Ovechkin in the NHL scoring race. It would be nice to see Geno put some room betweeen himself and his Russian comade. Don't be surprised if Marc-Andre Fluery gets the night off and Mathieu Garon starts in goal. Since coming over from Edmonton, Garon's played in only three games with his last game-action March 15. Fluery could use a night off with the post season starting next week.

Tonight is Fan Appreciation Night with prizes awared throughtout the evening. The highlight will come at the end of the game when 23 randomly selected fans will receive the Penguins' jerseys from the game. Pittsburgh managment will also collect donations for the “Pittsburgh Fallen Heroes Fund” before the game. The fund has been established by the Fraternal Order of Police to support the families of the three officers slain in the line of duty Saturday in Stanton Heights – Eric Kelly, Stephen Mayhle and Paul Sciullo.
